The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), originally called the Interactive Mail Access Protocol, is a network protocol that provides a network file system for Emails. IMAP extends the functions and procedures of the Post Office Protocols (POP) in a way that enables users to save their mails, folder structures and settings on the mail servers.
